Responsibilities:
- Introduce topics of conversationand lead the conversation as needed
- Help students with grammar and vocabulary
- Ensure everyone has an opportunity to participate in the discussion
- Students will be at different levels of proficiency
- Createawelcoming and encouraging environment conducive to learning and participating
Types of volunteers:
- Adults (21+)
Time Commitment:
- Wednesdays from6:30 - 7:30 pm
- at least two Wednesdays per month
- Minimum 6-month time commitment
- Ability to commit to a regular schedule
Qualifications:
- Fluent in Chinese Mandarin and able to speak clearly and correctly (native speaker with neutral accent preferred)
- Friendly and welcoming
- Ability to speak English proficiently and clearly
- Enjoys working with people from different backgrounds and proficiency levels
- A desire to help students improve their Spanish
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- No prior teaching experience necessary
