Responsibilities:
- Introduce English grammar, vocabulary, and idioms and answer questions from students
- Prepare materials and discussion topics for class in advance
- Lead a one-hour conversation practice group, encouraging student participation
- Students will be at different levels of proficiency
Types of volunteers:
Adults (age 21+)
Older Adults (age 55+)
Time Commitment:
- Minimum 1-year commitment
- Class Wednesdays 11 am - noon
- Preferred commitment: must be available to teach every other week
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a college degree
- No prior teaching experience required
- Enthusiasm and patience a must.
- A desire to help students improve their English speaking and writing skills
- Preferred: Experience working with people from other cultures
- Welcome: Experience teaching ESL
