· Library staff will contact candidates for interview within 1-2 weeks of receiving your application
· Library staff will check reference and initiate criminal background check for selected applicant(s).

Responsibilities:
· Lead the class in conversations, encouraging each student to participate.
· Introduce elements of English grammar, vocabulary, idioms, etc.
· Prepare materials and discussion topics for class in advance
· Students will be at different levels of proficiency
Types of volunteers:
· Adults (21+)
· Older Adults (55+)
Time Commitment:
· Classes will meet Wednesday evenings from
· Each teacher is expected to teach at least 2 classes per month (every other Wednesday)
· Minimum of a 6-month commitment
Qualifications:
· Minimum of a college degree
· No prior teaching experience required
· Excellent communication skills
· Friendly, encouraging, welcoming demeanor
· A desire to help students improve their English speaking and writing skills
· Enthusiasm and patience a must.
· Preferred: Experience working with people from other cultures
