- Library staff will check reference and initiate criminal background check for selected applicant(s).
Responsibilities:
- Assist Books by Mail staff by supporting delivery and return of library items to Arlington patrons who are unable to leave their homes.
- Take materials from Central Library and deliver them to Books by Mail patrons.
- Retrieve checked-out items from patrons and return them to the library.
Types of volunteers:
- Adult aged 21+
- Older Adults (55+)
Time commitment:
- Variable; a minimum of one 3-4 hour shift per week.
- Hours of service will be flexible based on volunteer’s availability, but will need to be consistent and communicated to staff.
Qualifications:
- Reliable, dependable and good with communication
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to use their own insured vehicle
- Friendly disposition combined with the ability to hold healthy and safe boundaries with people of varied ages, genders and backgrounds
- Knowledge of Arlington geography
- Commitment to safe data privacy practices
