Volunteer: Teen Summer Reading Volunteer at Westover Library

Summer volunteers will help staff the Summer Reading Table at Westover Library and provide information about our Summer Reading Program to adults and children. Volunteers will also help with additional material preparation and assist library staff as needed.

Responsibilities:  

Help with lobby display and Summer Reading kick off program Sign up children and adults for the Summer Reading Program Award prizes to those who complete the Summer Reading Program Provide information about the summer reading program and library  Prepare materials and displays for library programming as needed  Assist with activities at library events

Time commitment:

A minimum of 3 shifts served from June 1st- September 1st    

Qualifications:  

Dependable and flexible  Interested in working with children and the public  Computer skills  Interest in books and reading  Great organizational skills  Good communicator with both Library patrons and Library staff  Able to handle repetitive tasks

Must be able to attend Teen Volunteer Training at Westover on either: 

Tuesday, May 26th from 4:00-5:00 p.m.  OR  Wednesday, May 27th from 6:00-7:00 p.m.

OR Wednesday, June 24 from 3:00-4:00 p.m.

Location: Westover Library
