Responsibilities:  

Encourage patrons in career transitions Review and edit resumes Help patrons create resumes Be (or become) aware of locally available support organizations and resources Help patrons complete and/or submit job applications  

Types of volunteers:  

Adults Adults aged 55+ 

Time commitment:   

1.5 hours 1 - 2 times per month, Thursday afternoon

Qualifications:  

Excellent customer service skills Experience providing employment advice Current awareness of online job search platforms and resume expectations Must be willing to gain awareness of current resume writing techniques  Must be willing to gain awareness of locally available resources, including those at the Library Must not have a conflict of interest in helping job seekers  Speak English fluently enough to communicate with someone about computer problems and edit documents.  Fluency in a second language is a plus, but not required.  Knowledge of Microsoft Office, email programs, file management and print preview and printing.
