Responsibilities: Lead a monthly book club for adults Develop a title and theme for the club based on your own reading, community interest, and with input from library staff Select book club titles with input from library staff Work with library staff to procure materials Engage the group in discussion Types of volunteers: Adult aged 21+ Older Adults (55+) Time commitment: One book club meeting a month, for approximately 1 hour, plus time of reading material for book club selection. Schedule to be determined by volunteer's availability and library calendar. Qualifications: Minimum of a college degree No prior teaching experience required Excellent communication skills Friendly, encouraging, welcoming demeanor A desire to help students improve their English speaking and writing skills Interest in guiding conversation and providing positive feedback in a relaxed, social setting Enthusiasm and patience are a must.
